Is it conservativ enough to use VUU (butt weld:as weld) for the internal nodes of the flange points in the piping system.?

The analysis of longitudinal stresses in a piping system does not replace a flange analysis.
Usually you would verify the longitudinal stresses in the pipe with ROHR2 and a SIF that corresponds to the weld of you flange to the piping system.
In addition you may use a flange analysis to check the stresses in the flange (with the additional local stresses due to the bold/gasket forces which are not present in the stress analysis of the piping).
So in the pipe stress analysis you should include the stress concentration of the connection to the flange (most of the time a circumferential weld VUU/VUB, but could also be wall thickness transition WSU/WSB or welded in connections KUR/KUH).
